The Dukes Box 10th anniversary party, Wales
Sol Cinema joined our fellow caravan attraction Dukes Box in celebrating a decade of mobile fun.

June 25th-29th 2014 Glastonbury festival

Sol Cinema performed at the biggest party of them all again..Glastonbury!
We where in the Circus and Theatre field just like last year.

July 12th 2014 Lewisham Peoples Day

Sol Cinema performed at South east London's most popular free festival on Saturday 12 July
Festival was open 12 noon to 8pm in Mountsfield Park, Catford and it was absolutely free to attend.

August 16th 2014 Spotlight festival, Seven Dials, London

Sol Cinema appeared in London again. We were in Seven Dials on Saturday August 16th from 12-7pm to celebrate the array of culture in the area. The whole of Seven Dials was traffic-free and Sol Cinema enjoyed long queues in the sunshine. Thank you London

August 30-31st 2014, Jersey Live, Channel Islands

Sol Cinema went off to another Island. We performed on Jersey at their annual festival alongside fellow Alternative Caravan Club members Bramble FM and the DukesBox

September 19th 2014, Dublin Ireland

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland celebrated Culture Night by bringing the Sol Cinema to the party in Dublin.

October 17-19th 2014 Musicport Festival Whitby, Yorkshire

Sol Cinema is booked for Musicport Festival .
The UK's biggest indoor World Music Festival. Located in Whitby, North Yorkshire.

November 29th 2014, Festival of Light, Huddersfield,

Sol Cinema is off up North to perform for the Festival of Light.
This year's Festival of Light brings an amazing year of free events to a close following on from the Tour de France. which started in Yorkshire this year.

November 23rd Dartford, Kent

Sol Cinema went to the East of England. We performed on Dartford High Street showing locally made videos as part of Dartford Creative

September 14th, London (Shepherds Bush)

Sol Cinema returned to London again for a performance in the Westfield Shopping Centre in West London

September 13th, Leeds (Trinity)

Sol Cinema popped up in Leeds for the first time ever and this time under cover in the Trinity centre.

September 12th, Birmingham

Brum is being treated this year as we return yet again to the Bull Ring to perform for the fashion chain, Warehouse.We were outside the infamous Birmingham Bullring in the Rotunda Square from 9am until 9pm

September 7th, Liverpool

Sol Cinema was in Liverpool for the first time. We performed for Warehouse and showed their latest movie about Fashion- all outfits were chosen by the general public

September 6th, Manchester

We were performing in Trafford in the rain outside the Trafford Centre Manchester M17 8BL
from 9am until 8pm

August 24th 2013- Stoke on Trent

Sol Cinema went into England for Appetite - a street festival of inspiring arts and cultural events.
A bespoke programme of short films of 5 minutes each was created especially for Stoke-on-Trent.
We were in Hanley from 11.00am until 4pm

August 17th London, Wandsworth

Sol Cinema launched a community made movie from Groundsworks about revamping a 200 year old pond in an estate near South Fields

June 26-30th 2013 Glastonbury Festival, Somerset

Sol Cinema was chosen for the Circus & Theater field in the largest music and arts festival in Europe..GLASTONBURY! A fine time was had by all.

June 22nd 2013 Go Green Day, Birmingham

Saturday 22nd June

Go Green was a great opportunity to learn practical ways to change to green sustainable lifestyles greatly helping to reduce the effects of climate chaos. We had a wonderful day and had a visit from he mayor of Solihull More details here

March 22 & 23 2013 Flatpack Film Festival, Birmingham

Sol Cinema arrived in a snow blizzard in Birmingham for the Flatpack film festival. Despite minus 7 degrees with the wind chill, we performed for 2 days on the High street. Mud, rain or Sun we are always there!

November 24-25th 2012, Barbican London

Sol Cinema went back for another weekend film festival at Barbican arts centre in London.
We showed brilliant new films by young directors.

November 17-18th 2012 Barbican London

Sol Cinema showed the best films from young people in a unique festival. Framed festival was held in Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue , The Barbican arts.

September 6-9th 2012 Isle of Wight

Sol Cinema escaped to a smaller island to perform alongside Stevie Wonder and New Order amongst others. A sunny time was had by all and Sol Cinema was full of well dressed animals. Superb event.

August 8th 2012 Eisteddfod, Wales

Sol Cinema was immersed in all things Welsh at the Eisteddfod Cymru. Our usherettes are fluent Welsh speakers and we showed a range of Welsh made films

August 2-5th 2012 Green Gathering Wales

Sol Cinema joined in 3 full days of music, poetry and workshops centred around all things green. Despite the rain and mud, we entertained under the rainbows www.greengathering2012.co.uk

The Sol Cinema went to Scotland for the muddiest festival we have ever performed at. But we survived and entertained despite the crazy conditions.

June 2-3rd 2012 Oldham, England

Meeting other performers in Oldham

Sol Cinema performed at Festival Oldham -a yearly weekend festival that takes place in the heart of Oldham celebrating the very best art and entertainment the town has to offer. Despite the torrential rain, we entertained and even had an entire orchestra playing Bohemian Rhapsody outside.

April 21st 2012 Postcode lottery awards, Port Talbot

Sol Cinema is handed a cheque to update our solar power system

Sol Cinema was at the Postcode Lottery ceremony in Port Talbot as £2m was won by a wide range of people.The full winning postcode, SA12 6PY, was announced at a winner's party for players living in postcode area.

Sol Cinema was shortlisted to win the Epic awards for Arts projects across UK and Ireland.
Thanks for all your votes. We were pipped at the post for the top prize but we still won a runners up award in the Epic Awards.

August 11-18th 2011 Swansea

We were in the Waterfront Museum helping to launch Swansea Telly- a local community internet TV channel for the city. Hundreds came along and watched videos for free and learned how you can watch and submit your own videos for free. Free DVDs were given away too every day 1pm-3pm

July 9th-10th Devon

Sol Cinema entertained 100 people at a private party in South Devon for The Fur-Heads Strike Back.

26-28th May Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd

Sol Cinema performed 3 day environmental event at Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd, from the 26 - 28th of May. Despite the rain, the Sol Cinema welcomed school children on the 26th & 27th and then the wider public on the 28th.

May 18th Penclawdd, Wales - The Sol Cinema went to school

The Sol Cinema visited Penclawdd Primary school in South Wales showing the young pupils their own home made movies and animations. The Evening Post came and wrote a report for the newspaper

May 13-15th Malvern Spring Garden Show 2011

Sol Cinema went to the Eco Home and Garden Area of the The Malvern Spring Garden Show to a great response.

May 7th 2011 Caernarfon, Wales Climate Change seminar

Sol Cinema went to a seminar in Caernarfon on the 7th May 2011. It was based around
climate change and biodiversity hosted by Keep wales tidy
Glynllifon College near Caernarfon, LL54 5DU.
The outdoor events was held from 1.00 pm until 5.00pm

Trevor Fishlock looks at the history of cinema in Wales. Trevor and his crew spent a day filming The Sol Cinema. Broadcast on December 28th 7.30pm, you can watch it online on ITV Wales

Sol Cinema won the 2010 Network Wales Awards

Undercurrents won Class award for best communications with the Sol Cinema– for the group with the most effective or innovative way of communicating its message. The crystal bowl trophy is our first award - a great way to end our first year in action. Read the article in the Evening Post

London Barbican Arts Gallery 24-25 July 2010

Sol Cinema has been chosen for the Surreal House at Barbican Art gallery inviting visitors in for a trip into its twisted domestic interior. Featuring artists from the early days of Surrealism in the twenties right up to the present day, including Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Edward Hopper, Man Ray and Louise Bourgeois. Poole, Dorset June 22nd 2010

Sol Cinema played in a soap factory, taking Lush the soap retailers to the flicks at their mini-festival for staff shop managers and factory staff. We were also filmed for Lush TV and had Lush founder Mark Constantine in our cinema (see photo)

East Meon, Hampshire 21st June 2010
